2024 End of Year Review

As the year draws to a close, we at Umemba Health reflect on an incredible 2024 filled with growth, impact, and new opportunities to transform public health. As a woman and minority-owned management consulting firm, our mission has always been to equip federal and government agencies with the tools and expertise they need to improve health outcomes, promote health equity, and ensure the well-being of the communities they serve. This year, we proudly continued to deliver on that mission.



2024 By the Numbers

This year, Umemba Health:

  • Served 9 clients across 11 impactful projects, with a strong focus on repeat client relationships (67% repeat clients and 33% new clients).

  • Expanded our internal team by adding 1 intern, 2 Virtual Assistants, and 6 Collaborating Consultants to support our growing portfolio.

  • Took the lead as the Prime Contractor on 67% of projects, demonstrating our expertise in managing and executing public health initiatives. On the remaining 33%, we proudly collaborated as a Subcontractor.

  • Introduced a new service line: Public Health Program Administration, offering expert management and administrative support to ensure seamless operations and impactful results for federal and government public health programs.

  • Hosted 24 skill-building workshops and 1 Virtual CHW Symposium, training a total of 927 Community Health Workers

  • Graduated 29 CHW/CHWi students and provided 13 CHW Scholarships.

  • Licensed our CHW training curricula to two organizations and disseminated thousands of hours of continuing education credit.

  • Launched six new signature workshops:

    • Diabetes Equity Workshop

    • Compassionate Care for Unhoused Populations

    • Healthcare Navigation for Community Health Workers

    • Influential Communication

    • Influential Relationships

    • Influential Leadership



Key Achievements

  • Services Provided: From Learning Needs Assessments, Curriculum and Course Development, Workshop Facilitation, and Resource Development to Project Management, CHW Program Consulting, and Educational Event Management, Umemba Health supported clients with tailored solutions.

  • Business Certifications: In addition to our Certification as a Woman-Owned Small Business, Umemba Health obtained three additional business certifications this year— Certified Women’s Business Enterprise Certification (WBENC), Texas HUB Certifiation, and Minority Business Certification—solidifying our reputation as a trusted and qualified partner.

  • Founded Umemba Health Foundation - a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and sister entity that now houses our CHW and CHW Instructor certification courses.
